My name is Claire Jones (ccsaddict on some boards and stitchy on others), My husband and I are both retired. We live in Hanford, California.
We share our home with 2 small parrots and two dogs. Sophie and Casey keep life interesting since both birds can speak. Sophie, an African Gray, is particularly hard to ignore since she is literally conversational. When I am stitching and she wants to chat, I suddenly hear huge sighs and, if that doesn't get me, she will ask me how I am and go on from there.
The dogs do not talk however they know how to make their wishes known. You haven't been properly awakened until the furry alarm clock, Speedy (Al's rat terrier mix), licks you on the nose.
Rosie is my constant companion. A dachsund mix, she listens attentively as I tell her all about a problem I am having with a chart. Rosie is as loving as she is stubborn. She loves it when I stitch because she gets to snooze on my lap for as long as she wishes. When she is ready for her nap, she comes to get me at the computer and harasses me to come to the stitching chair. She is definitely my girl, its obvious she loves stitching! Both are SPCA Graduates.
The person who completes our little group is Al, my husband. He keeps me honest and grounded. But his greatest asset on a less than perfect day is that he can get me to laugh That ability helps me not to take life quite so seriously. After 30 years, he can still surprise me with his comments and provide hugs that make everything better. He is a definite keeper.
